On Thursday, May 22, 2008 we were hit by a bad storm. Moreno Valley was hit the worst. Unfortunately I drive through Moreno Valley to get home. I received a phone call from my mother-in-law letting me know what was going on. She told me to take the 215 FWY home. She also mentioned that a family from our church, their house was flooded due to the storm. When we got off the phone an emergency broadcast aired on the radio informing listeners of a tornado warning from 5:15 p.m. - 5:45 p.m. in Perris through Sun City. Perris is located off of the 215 FWY, there was no way I would be going that way. Brad called me to let me know the 60 FWY was shut down from Moreno Beach Drive through the 10 FWY. My exit is in between the closure. Brad and I kept calling eachother with updates. We both decided we would make our way through Moreno Valley to Alessandro and catch Gilman Springs from there. All in all it only took us 1 hour to get home. Our regular commute is 45-50 minutes, so not bad. Kristian enjoyed her ride home with daddy!! When she got home she wanted to draw a rainbow with rain and clouds. I can just imagine what was going through her mind on her way home :)

Brad was able to witness the tornado above (no, we did not take this picture)

hail from the storm in Moreno Valley

traffic coming from Moreno Beach Drive

I bet emergency crews were busy!?!?!?

check out the snow on that truck

a stream of water from the storm

A tractor was required on Gilman Springs to move some of the dirt that made its way onto the street

be careful!!

just beautiful

I was taking pictures of my side mirror so you can see what was behind me.
I was trying to beat the storm home.

Our housing tract

Brad trying to get into the house fast.
When we got inside the garage we noticed the dogs tried really hard to get into the house. They chewed (more than likely Divot) the framing around the door that leads into the house.

Kristian insisted she take her umbrella with us to dinner :) After Kristian used it to get into the car, she gave it to daddy.
